Legendary Cortland based band The Rods return to the Binghamton area this Saturday at Eclipse Returns. The power trio consisting of Vocalist/Guitarist David "Rock" Feinstein, Bassist Gary Bordonaro and Drummer Carl Canedy always put on a very energetic live show. This is their third appearance in Greater Binghamton in the last six years. This summer they opened for Queensryche at the Pines Pavilion and Events Center, and were the headliners of the Binghamton Area Metalfest in 2009.
Since coming on the scene in the late 70's, The Rods have consistently delivered aggressive live shows all over the world. Often compared to artists like The Ramones and Motorhead, their style of playing and mannerisms earned them a rabid fan base. Even with opening slots for Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, mainstream success eluded the band. Did that deter them? Not one bit. They continue to deliver the goods wherever they go. In recent years, they have played at several major outdoor festivals in Europe, where Metal still rules the land.
Joining The Rods on Saturday with be Veronica "The V" Freeman of Benedictum who will perform several Ronnie James Dio classics with The Rods. Dio and Feinstein were cousins who jammed together in their early years. Dio also provided vocals for the song The Code from The Rods 2011 album Vengeance.
Offering direct support for The Rods are Sons of Sabbath, and Wicked.
Tickets for the show are $10 in advance (see flyer above for ticket locations) or $15 at the door. The doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm.
